Reference: How to perform VANET simulations in NetSim over map view?

The device naming in NetSim(Configuration.netsim) and Vehicle naming in SUMO(*.rou.xml) needs to be similar for VANET simulations over map-view. This needs to be taken care of by the user while creating the network scenario as explained in the reference link provided above. Also, ensure that the devices you rename in NetSim have SUMO mobility configured. It is preferable to use names such as V1, Vehicle1, Veh1, etc.  If the name of a device for which SUMO mobility is configured, does not match with any of the vehicle names in SUMO, it would lead to conflict during the simulation and may cause unexpected behavior.

Device name mapping is essential to retrieve the X, Y coordinates from SUMO during run-time.
