Configuring a sensor node as the SDN controller is similar to other examples discussed in the help document. 
In the controller Sensor node properties-> Application Layer:



In other sensor devices (the name of the sensor that acts as an SDN controller needs to be specified.


Further, enabling packet trace and event trace options prior to running the simulation will help you in analyzing the flow of commands from the controller to other devices. Viewing packet trace entries are explained in the help document. Similarly, entries can be found in the event trace too.

Please note that in the WSN network, not all SDN commands are supported. Since the sensor nodes do not have support for ICMP protocol, the ping command will not work for sensor devices.
