OSPF implementation in NetSim is based on RFC 2328. Quoting from the RFC:
"The cost of sending a packet on the interface, expressed in the link state metric. This is advertised as the link cost for this interface in the router's router-LSA. The interface output cost must always be greater than 0."

In NetSim, the output cost of a link is user-defined and not calculated automatically
In the screenshot provided below, the default cost for each router is set to 100. Users have the flexibility to adjust the link cost based on their requirements.
To modify the OSPF cost for a specific WAN Interface of a router, navigate to Router Properties -> Expand Application Layer -> Expand OSPF -> Expand Interface 1. Here, users can observe and adjust the Output Cost Parameter.
Note that OSPF Cost can be configured differently for each WAN Interface connected to the router.
The OSPF metric is automatically calculated based on the output cost.
The OSPF metric for a route is calculated as the sum of the output costs of all outgoing interfaces in the route. This information can be found in the IP forwarding table of the routers in the Simulation results dashboard as shown below:

In NetSim, the output cost of a link is user input. It is not calculated.
