This error may occur if NetSim is not run as an administrator.

To avoid this error while creating a new network scenario in NetSim:

Do not start NetSim directly by double-clicking on NetSim shortcut present in your desktop.
Instead, Open NetSim as an administrator, by right-clicking on NetSim shortcut in your desktop and selecting Run as administrator.

To avoid this error while opening a saved configuration file:

Do not open Configuration.netsim file by directly right-clicking on in and selecting open with TETCOS NetSim
Instead, Open NetSim as an administrator, by right-clicking on NetSim shortcut in your desktop and selecting Run as administrator.
Open the Configuration file using the Open Simulation option available in the NetSim Home Screen window.
