Create a scenario as per the screenshot below in LTE

Settings done to create the network:

1. Grid length - 1000*1000m

2. Select UDP in all devices in Transport Layer

3. Change all wired link speeds by 10 Gbps

4. Create 4 CBR applications from Wired Node to UEs with generation rate 300Mbps(Packet size=1460, IAT=37micro sec)

5. Set the channel bandwidth of carriers to 20MHz in Interface1_LTE properties

6. Set Transmission mode index to 1 in eNB's Interface1_LTE properties

7. Set Channel characteristics to Pathloss only, Pathloss model to LOG_DISTANCE and Pathloss exponent to 2

8. Simulate for 10 seconds

Output:

Transmission mode index (Tx. mode, Tx. antenna, Rx. antenna)Application Throughput (Mbps)
1(2,2,2)37.27, 37.27, 37.26, 37.26
2(3,2,2)74.08, 74.08, 74.07, 74.07

Transmission mode 2: MIMO Tx. Diversity => Sends copies of same information via multiple antennae. This will lead to higher reliability but the throughput will remain the same.

Transmission mode 3: MIMO Spatial Multiplexity Open Loop => used to achieve high data rates. Here the data is divided and sent via various antennae. You can see the doubling of throughput
